Tips for Program and App Setup and Maintenance

If you have been placed on the VCheck24 monitoring program, you will want to ensure compliance with program rules by doing the following:

1) Once you receive the app install link via text (and/or email), download the app right away and follow the in-app instructions for setup

2) ALL APP PERMISSIONS MUST BE SET TO "ALLOW" AND LOCATION PERMISSION MUST BE SET TO "ALWAYS ALLOW"

3) When performing all check-ins, keep your face in the center of the frame at all times, speak clearly, and DO NOT CLOSE THE APP or allow your phone to go into sleep mode for at least 1-2 minutes following every VCheck.  Never force close or swipe away the VCheck24 app for the entire duration of your program term.

4) When prompted to say two words during your VCheck, you must say those exact two words

5) Ensure that your smartphone is fully up to date on operating system updates.  If you're uncertain, go into your settings and check for system updates.

6) Be sure to have a wifi or cellular connection when performing VChecks

7) Within the VCheck app permissions, you may want to change the Push Notifications setting to PERSISTENT as opposed to the default which is TEMPORARY.  This way, any app notifications will not be missed.

If you have been placed on the BrAC Check monitoring program, you will want to ensure compliance with program rules by doing the following:

STEP 1:  Remove the BACtrack unit from its case and begin charging the unit using the mini-USB charger that was included (at full charge the pulsing blue light will become a solid blue light).  To keep your device charged, plug it in every other night.  Failure to keep your BACtrack unit charged may result in a missed check-in breath test which prompts automatic alert messages to the monitoring party/parties involved.

STEP 2:  Download the FREE VCheck24 Smartphone Monitoring App to your Smartphone.  To find the app, search the Google Play or App Store for “VCheck24.”

The App icon looks like this:

VERY IMPORTANT:  Make sure Bluetooth is turned ON in the settings of your Smartphone.

STEP 3:  Contact your assigned supervision officer or send an email to contactus@vcheck24.com or call our office (M-F 8am – 5pm) at 833-824-3257 to request the activation TEXT.  This text must either come from us or directly from your supervision officer or agent.

STEP 4:  Once your text is received, click the activation link and follow the directions as prompted within the VCheck24 app to perform your enrollment VCheck.  Make sure you select “ALLOW” when any prompts appear.  If you open the app and it asks for a “unique code,” simply click on the link within your text message once again.

STEP 5:  Once you have completed your enrollment VCheck, you must complete an initial BrAC Check.  Start by hitting the button on the bottom right corner of the app Home screen.

This will initiate your first BrAC test.  Follow the in-app instructions to complete your test.

NOTE: Make sure to TURN THE BACTRACK DEVICE ON by pressing and holding down the button below the "blow hole."  Your phone will connect automatically.

STEP 6:  Send an e-mail to your agent or contactus@vcheck24.com (or call 833-824-3257) to let us know you have completed your initial enrollment test.

•    Disable Battery Saver mode

TROUBLESHOOTING if you run into an issue:

•    Reboot your phone (turn it completely off, then on again)
•    Check your phone settings to ensure that location is enabled
•    Check the VCheck app settings to make sure that all permissions are allowed and that cellular data is enabled
•    Check to see if your phone requires a system update (periodically, Android and Apple update their operating systems and this

needs to be done to maintain the most up-to-date operating system)
